Set Up Email on Android
Add your mailbox to the Gmail app as its own account, connected over IMAP. It is not a Google Account and does not need one: an outside mailbox is added the same way in the Gmail app on Android as it is anywhere else.
Using the Gmail App
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap your profile picture in the top right, then Add another account.
- Tap Other, then choose Personal (IMAP).
- Enter your new email address and your mailbox password.
- Enter these settings:
- Incoming mail server (IMAP): the host shown on your account page's Mail app settings card. Port 993, SSL.
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): the same host. Port 465, SSL (port 587 with STARTTLS also works).
- Username: your full email address.
- Password: your mailbox password, the one you set.
- Done! Switch between accounts by tapping your profile picture.
Using Samsung Email or Other Apps
- Open your email app and go to Settings → Add Account.
- Choose Other or IMAP.
- Enter your new email address, your mailbox password, and the settings above.
- Your inbox will sync automatically.
